The UK’s only multiservice provider joins forces with Ben Fogle as its new brand ambassador
< Back to Newsroom23 March 2022 - Utility Warehouse (UW), the UK’s only multiservice provider, has announced adventurer and award-winning broadcaster Ben Fogle as its news brand ambassador. Ben will replace existing ambassador Joanna Lumley, who passed on the baton at the company's recent Power Up event.
Ben Fogle, who rose to fame on Castaway 2000, has been the face of some of Britain’s favourite television shows in recent years. But more notably, he's visited some of the most far-flung parts of the world, scaling Mount Everest and racing to the South Pole.
And now he embarks on a different type of adventure, working closely with UW and its Partner network. UW Partners are the face of the multiservice provider, offering its services via word of mouth to their friends and family. Through UW Partners, new customers can sign up for a range of services, bundled together to offer savings and benefits - such as a cashback card, which offers further savings on their monthly bill.
Ben’s adventure with UW has so far taken him to Edinburgh, where he met a team of UW Partners to learn more about the work they do day to day. He saw first hand how Partners offered UW services to their customers and got to understand exactly what makes Partners tick and what gives them the drive to do what they do. It comes at a time when UW is redefining its bundle offering to customers, giving customers a greater choice of services and more ways to save.
Customers who switch all their home services to UW - energy, mobile, broadband - can get the cheapest energy in the UK. Multiservice UW customers can save up to £98 against the price cap, giving them the cheapest energy price in the UK at a time when prices are being hiked for millions of households.
These bundles were launched at UW’s recent Power Up event, where 6,000 UW Partners gathered at Telford International Centre to hear the latest from the business, as well as meeting Ben for the first time. These bundles come at a crucial time, when consumers are being clobbered by a cost of living crisis and increased prices for food and petrol, amongst other things.
And Ben was so impressed, he even signed up as a customer. Ben’s switched all his home services - energy, broadband, and mobile - to UW. This bundle guarantees Ben a saving of 5% against the energy price cap and a discount on his broadband and mobile services of 10% - a saving of around £126 a year.
Matt Roskill, Marketing Director at UW, said: ‘Ben Fogle is the perfect ambassador for UW. Our Partners are intrepid and brave self-starters who have shunned the traditional 9-to-5 in favour of a different way of earning. It’s the perfect match-up and Ben has already been getting stuck in with our Partners, getting out and about with them to see how they attract new customers. And we’re delighted that Ben has signed up for our latest bundle. At a time when millions of households are seeing their utility bills rise, UW is offering people the chance to take advantage of the cheapest energy in the UK, when they switch all their home services.’
Ben Fogle said: ‘It’s been an amazing experience so far and I’m excited to be working with UW and being a customer of theirs, too. The way they bundle home services is so simple, I couldn’t wait to get started with them. As an explorer myself, seeing the way UW Partners get out there and speak to new customers really resonates with me. They are offering a different way of doing things and they walk a different path and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.’
