Switching your mobile number

Whether you’re switching to UW or another provider, it’s quick and easy to keep your current mobile number.

Switching your mobile service to UW

 

It’s really easy to switch your mobile service to UW. You won’t even need to call your current provider, as all the information needed to switch your mobile service is available by text. Depending on your preference, you can choose to keep your current mobile number or we can give you a new one.

 

  • Want to keep your mobile number?

If you’d like to keep your current mobile number when you switch to UW, you’ll need a PAC (short for Porting Authorisation Code). You can get this by texting ‘PAC’ to 65075 for free. 

 

  • Prefer to get a new mobile number?

If you’d prefer a new mobile number when you switch to UW, you’ll need a STAC (short for Service Termination Authorisation Code). You can get this by texting ‘STAC’ to 75075 for free. Just keep in mind that if you use a STAC, you’ll be given a new mobile number and won’t be able to get your old one back.

 

Then, all you need to do is share your PAC or STAC code with us when you order your SIM or after we’ve sent out your new SIM. The codes are valid for 30 days – but if your code expires before you use it, you should be able to request another one.

Switching your mobile service from UW

Before you leave, we recommend texting ‘INFO’ to 85075 for free. This will give you information about the cost of leaving us if you’re still in contract, plus any other services that may be impacted. If you’re on a Pay as you go plan, this will give you information on how much credit you’ll lose once you switch.

If you’d still like to switch and take your number with you, you’ll need a Porting Authorisation code. You can get your PAC from us in the following ways:

  • Log in to My Account

 

If you’d like to switch but get a new number, you’ll need a Service Termination Authorisation Code (usually called a STAC). You can get your STAC from us in the following ways:

  • Text ‘STAC’ to 75075 for free

  • Call us on 0333 777 3238

  • Log in to My Account

 

When you give the code to your new provider, they’ll contact us to cancel your mobile service (and switch your mobile number if that’s what you’ve requested).
